Looking back and forth between Yuno and that Yukki person, the blond could see how drastically the female’s personality changed in a split second. Smirking, “No need to be embarrassed now. About you two dating, that is,” he said, hiding behind the mask of an old friend. Though the boy seemed like a good person, Armin would need to use him to kill the 2nd. Although the blond didn’t know yet if the other male was a diary holder, it didn’t matter at the moment; it was not like he would do anything right now, though. There were too many people around, not to mention the fact it probably wasn’t the right time to attack. Besides, he wanted to try to form an alliance with Yuno, after all she was strong, and having a strong person by your side is always a great option.
Turning to look at the pink haired girl, he smiled, trying to seem as genuine as he could, “It really is a pity I can’t stay any longer, but I doubt you two lovebirds would like me to watch you both on your date. But before I go,” he picked his phone, “Could you tell me what your phone number is, Gasai? We’ve been interacting only through e-mails, and I don’t think you’ve given me your new phone number. I mean, as friends, I would love to keep contact with you.” Armin said, hoping she would do so.
Yuno grabbed a pen and paper out of her bag and wrote down her number. “Here.” She faked another smile and gave him the paper. She wasn’t sure why she gave him the right number, but what harm would it cause? Maybe he just wanted to be friends with her. No, that couldn’t be the case. Why would any diary holder want to be friends with her? Special one that she tried to kill before. She was almost sure that he had some sort of plan, she just didn’t know what it was. Yet.
"Yukki… Gasai told me so much about you, and how she’d like to protect you," he lied, hoping that would spark some sort of reaction, be it on that Yukki person or on Gasai. Though what he said about the pink haired girl wanting to protect someone was true, Armin only wasn’t sure if it was the black haired boy. He was almost one hundred percent sure he was the boy though; Yuno didn’t seem like the type of person that would have many friends.
Even if nothing of that was actually what he hoped, it’d still be new knowledge for him, and knowledge was power. Depending on the relationship the female has with that male, the blond could so so he could manipulate her - a threat.
"She did?" Yukki asked, chuckling with embarrassment. Yuno blushed and smiled to Yukki. A genuine smile. "I-I did.." she mumbled.
It was so noticeable that she likes Yukki. The way she acted when she talked to him, showed it very well. She couldn’t help it but act this way. She didn’t even care that Armin was seeing her like this. Her mind was too distracted to even think about it.
As the days passed, it seemed that the weather had warmed up a bit - at least enough so Armin wouldn’t need to wear a long sleeved shirt. He still wore it though, since for whatever reason, he was too shy to show his arms. Being ashamed of his own arms amused the blond somewhat, but he lived with it.
It also ocurred to him that the number of holders had decreased, all in which he was sure was that Gasai girl’s doing. She was strong, that’s for sure, so maybe leaving the others to her hands would be for the best. In the end, the male could corner her and kill her, so he’ll be the winner.
Looking up from the book he had been reading, Armin noticed a familiar person entering the cafe, “Gasai…?” he mumbled under his breath - good thing she hadn’t noticed him yet. Perhaps the person she was with was more important than seeing if the place was safe? Now that he thinks about it, that night, she had said she wanted to protect someone; perhaps the boy she was with was the one she wanted to protect?
Hiding his smirk behind the book, the blond gets up and goes to the counter, where the cashier found herself - and near the place Yuno and the other male had decided to sit. Surely, she would notice him. Paying the check for his coffee, in an act, he turns around as if to take a last glance to the cafe and, “coincidentally”, spots the pink haired girl. Widening his eyes, “Gasai?” he calls out and walks towards where the female sat, studying the boy she was with, “Is this the boy you liked so much you kept on mentioning about to me?” he smiled, in a mockingly friendly way.
"Oh, yes. Yes it is." She faked a smile and looked up at him. She could see the way he studied Yukki. And that made her angry. What was he trying to do? Why was he lying? She never talked to him about any boy, did she? This was all very suspicious to her. And she didn’t like it. She didn’t like it at all.
"I assume that you are one of Yuno’s friends? My name is Yukki, nice to meet you." Yukki said with a smile.
And this made her even angrier than she already was. Why did Yukki have to be so nice? Why did this have to happen? Maybe Armin already knew that he was a diary holder and was planning to kill them both. But if that were to happen, both their diaries would have warned them, right? So what was it that this guy wanted. Why was he trying to act like a friend of hers? Why?
"I see…" he mumbled, suddenly feeling himself becoming cold - the weather surely dropped all of a sudden. "That’s very noble of you, Gasai," he told the pink haired female, putting a strand of hair behind his ear as the freezing wind hit them. Without looking back, Armin started to walk away from Yuno, "I’ll see you soon then!" he shouted, turning yet another corner.
There was no need to worry about she going after him and killing him, since that was her only knife. That thought was just a guess of his’ though.
Several days had passed. Yuno had been tracking down and killing other diary holders since. For some reason she decided not to kill Armin yet. She decided to leave him to the end. Maybe it was because she felt bad for him. Or maybe just because he was intelligent, and she needed a good plan. She wasn’t really sure about it.
She was super excited. Today she was finally having an official date with her beloved Yukki. They both decided to go to a coffee shop together. As they talked, Yuno sort of felt like she was being watched. She looked around, but didn’t see anyone suspicious. How weird. Maybe she could ask Yukki to check his diary. But it was too risky. She couldn’t put him under danger.
"What sort of priority, if I may ask?" he questioned, turning to look at the girl once again. People that entered in this game usually had something they wished to protect, or only a selfish wish for themselves. The girl probably wanted to protect something, someone, or herself, in that, there was no doubt. As for Armin, he wasn’t exactly sure. The winner not only became the new "God", but also could have one wish to be granted; Armin’s was a selfish one. It made him feel a bit bad, but he wanted that person to look only at him, but not with worrying eyes.
"I have to protect someone." She wasn’t sure if she should tell him stuff about Yukki. Who knows what were his plans? He could want information about him so it would be easier to track him down. Maybe he already knew about her diary and was planning on taking her down so he could use it to find where Yukki was. All these thoughts just made her want to kill this guy and end all this.
Humming in response, the blond turns to look at the sky, “But you know, you’re pretty cruel. It’s close to holidays, and you were thinking of killing me already? What if I had a family which I still like to spend time with?” Armin asked, though a bit ironically on his part. He had no family besides his grandfather, that was now sick and at the hospital. Then, he had his friends, Eren and Mikasa, but the blond thought he shouldn’t just be in their holidays party. It was for family, after all, and Armin wasn’t exactly part of it.
"I’m sorry, but I really didn’t think of that. To be honest, I had other priorities in my mind." It made her feel bad thinking about that. Thinking about how cruel she was sometimes. She knew she was a bad person, she really had no doubt in that. But she had to do it. She had to protect her beloved Yukki, no matter what.
Chuckling, “I understand the feeling very well, Gasai. But anyways, thank you for the compliment; if I might as well say something, you seem to be like a ruthless woman. Simply deciding to attack someone in the middle of the streets… You must be very proud and sure of your skills,” Armin mused, pulling his hand away and taking a few steps back, shoving them on his pockets. “You’re a very confident person, aren’t you?”
She laughed. “Well, I guess you could say that.” It was true. She was very aware that she had good skills and she did trust her instinct. It was rare for her to fail when it came to stuff like this.
"saay, hoow aaree yoouu toodaay miiss gaasaaii?
"I’m good, and you?"
